Well, it’s been a while since I last posted, but things are going great! The kids are back to the normal school routine, and I am back at the french lessons. It is finally warming up, and the weather is so nice today! I have just picked the kids up from school and they are playing outside while I sit at the patio table and enjoy the sun.
Saturday I went to Paris with a group and we visited the Chateau de Versailles. It was absolutely amazing!!! The Hall of Mirrors was my absolute favorite room! The gardens were exquisite!! If you ever have the opportunity to visit Paris I highly recommend spending a day there.
I am also super excited about going to Spain in a couple of weeks to visit my friend. I will be visiting Zaragoza for 5 days!! I have really procrastinated though, and have yet to buy a flight or train ticket. Lol, story of my life.
Anyway, I am thankful that the weather is warming up and can’t wait for even warmer weather!! Yay!
The past two weeks the kids have been on vacation from school. So they have spent some time with both sets of grandparents, and we have had some days at home playing games and stuff. This past week they went to their grandparents on Tuesday and came home Wednesday night. Thursday when I got home from french class my host mom had some friends over and we went bicycling. That turned out to be quite an adventure. There were 13 people, including kids. Two kids were in a wagon pulled behind a bike, and one was a toddler in a baby seat on the back of his moms bike. We ended up going up what I would call a small mountain!! Lol, it was steep and a little muddy. Well, I ended up behind the lady(who was pregnant) with her toddler in his seat. We were off our bikes trying to push them up the steep hill in the mud. She was having a hard time so I was also pushing her bike from behind while pulling mine too. I’m sure we were a sight! But we made it! I can honestly say I got my workout that day. Haha! Yesterday was Friday and we went to my HM sisters house to celebrate her sons birthday. We stayed the night at Nanou’s house, that’s my HM’s mother. Today we are going to a place called youpi mom. I think it’s kind of like chuck e cheese. Hopefully that won’t be too nerve racking. Lol, and maybe I will understand a little of what people are saying. I can understand french a lot better than I can speak. Trying to find the words to say what you want to say is difficult. But just listening and comprehending enough words that you know what people are saying is easier. Eventually I will be able to speak more. I am praying for a great week next week and wish you all the same, how ever few people read this. Lol. 😃
It’s hard to believe that I have been here for a month already! It seems like I just got here. I am enjoying my time here and hope the next months go as smoothly as the first. I visited the Chateau de Chinon on Friday. That was absolutely amazing. It wasn’t a very nice castle, because it was built during a time of war not peace. It was built during the medieval times. It was very cool to walk through and tour the various rooms and parts of the castle.
This week and next the kids are on vacation from school. Yesterday they had a virus, which was a bad start to vacation! But today they are better! Thankfully! They are leaving tomorrow to go to their grandmas house for a few days, and I will meet them there this weekend. We may go to a carnival in her town if the weather is nice.
I am supposed to meet up with my french etcher and classmate to see the Le Mans cathedral this week. I am looking forward to that!
It has been nice to talk to my family and friends over Skype and FaceTime and whatsapp. That really makes my day when I hear from them, and catch up on life there. And of course I tell them about life here.
Well hopefully we will have a good vacation and time off. 🙂
